Bringing Welsh and Hungarian communities together.

The Wales-Hungary initiative.

Our Projects

Since 2019, Magyar Cymru has been at the forefront of celebrating and strengthening Welsh-Hungarian cultural connections. We bring communities together through vibrant events, creative activations, and shared experiences that shine a light on our rich heritage.

From Welsh-Hungarian Friendship Day to year-round initiatives, we create spaces where people can discover something new, feel part of something special, and build real connection through culture.

Celebrating shared heritage

From 'The Bards of Wales' in Montgomery to Hungarian coal miners in the Valleys; from Bartók's début in Mid Wales to Hungarian choirs triumphing in Llangollen – our shared story is rich, unexpected, and deeply human. We preserve, spotlight, and share these living connections so more people can discover and celebrate them.

Inspiring cultural discovery

We bring Hungarian and Welsh culture to life through unforgettable experiences – music, dance, food, language, and the arts – so people in both communities can expand their horizons and learn from each other. We turn first-time curiosity into deeper understanding, lasting appreciation, and genuine connection.

Forging communities

We provide warm and welcoming spaces to help Hungarians feel truly at home in Wales, showcase the best of Hungarian culture to our Welsh audiences, and create shared moments where connections form naturally. The result is genuine belonging, lifelong friendships, and a growing passion to stay connected.
