The trilingual website for Welsh-Hungarian Friendship Day, launched to help promote events and activities around 14 May each year

On 14th May 2022, hundreds gathered in the Welsh town of Montgomery to celebrate our cultural ties. At the event, Magyar Cymru founder Balint Brunner announced that 14th May would become known as Welsh-Hungarian Friendship Day - in honour of the day’s legacy and in celebration of our diverse cultural links.

Shortly after the declaration, we launched a trilingual website - featuring an activities calendar and resources designed to encourage schools, businesses, arts organisations and individuals to join the celebrations each year.

Besides Magyar Cymru’s own events, recent years have seen students, music venues and restaurants join the movement - turning 14th May into an annual celebration of all things Welsh-Hungarian.
